Berwick Cages the Beaver Falls Tigers in Battle of QBs
In a game that featured two of Pennsylvania's top quarterbacks, it was Bo
Orlando and the Berwick 'Dawgs who came out on top of the Joe Namath-led Tigers
of Beaver Falls.
Coach George Curry called the performance by his QB Orlando and talilback Mike
DeAlberto as 'top rate.' "The way Mikey took control on the ground was a big
factor, and credit our line with giving him space to go. You also have to give a
lot of credit to our defense. They held one of the best athletes I've ever seen
(Namath) to virtually nothing."
Larry Bruno, coach of the Beaver Falls team, was gracious in defeat. "I've respected the Berwick program for years. They came ready to play. It will take one heck of a team to beat them. I don't think anyone can."
