Saegertown at Maplewood
by Bill Krober
Saegertown would conclude their season on the road at Maplewood with neither team advancing to the playoff rounds. Maplewood would come in to the game with a losing streak that would date back to sometime in the 2002 Season. Looking on the bright side for the Maplewood Tigers the Band did put on a very nice halftime show. There would also be a nice crowd on hand to support the team. Maplewood would win the coin toss and elect to receive the opening kick. The Tigers would start the night at their own 33 and would move down to the Saegertown 12 where they would try a 29 yard Field Goal. Tiger kicker and Running back Dustin Bradick would be long enough but wide right for the missed kick. The Panthers of Saegertown would take over at the Maplewood 20 and would quickly move down the field. The drive would be aided by a 50 yard pass from Quarterback Brandon Crum to Halfback Kyle Wilson. Crum would top this off with a 1 yard touchdown run and kicker Darren Amy would add the extra point. In the second Quarter the combination of Crum to Wilson would be deadly for the Tigers. The two would combine on a 43 yard pass play that would set up a Todd Wizneiwski 1 yard touchdown run with the Darren Amy point after for the 14 point lead. This would spawn Maplewood to put some points of their own on the board as they would narrow the gap on their next possession with a Chris Bowes 1 yard run. A bad snap on the extra point would deny the Tigers the 7. Saegertown would bounce back as Crum would again connect with Wilson this time on a 75 yard touchdown pass. The extra point would be missed and Saegertown would take a 20 to 6 lead to the locker room. The Second half of this contest would see only the Panthers put more points up on the board. In the 3rd Brandon Crum would score on a 5 yard touchdown run and in the 4th Kyle Wilson would score on a 15 yard run. Darren Amy would add both extra points giving Saegertown the 34 to 6 win. This Thursday 10 November if all works out we will be traveling to Hamilton Ontario for the 3 Championship games that will be played there.?The information contained in this e-mail may be confidential and is intended solely for the use of the named addressee.Access, copying or re-use of the e-mail or any information contained therein by any other person is not authorized. If you are not the intended recipient please notify us immediately by returning the e-mail to the originator.(17b)?
