Bill Krober's PA Football Report

Sheffield at Ridgway
By Bill Krober

It seems like I always end up at a lot of one sided games and this one would be no different as the Ridgway Elkers would roll to an easy victory over the Sheffield Wolverines. Sheffield would look dismal in this very much one sided game. Even the Officiating Crew would look bad from time to time. Ridgway would start this game with Barry Wilson returning the opening kickoff 89 yards before being drug down at the Sheffield 1 yard line. Andy Aiello would complete the kickoff return on a 1 yard run to open the scoring just 20 seconds in to the game. Soccer player and Football Kicker Alex Bradshaw would kick his first of 6 point after attempts to finish the scoring. Sheffield's first drive would go 4 and out with the Wolverines punting on 4th and 24. The punt would sail over the Punter's head who would have to chase the ball back towards his goal line before picking the ball up and punting it away. Just after the punt was cleared a defensive player would make a late hit on the Punter and would be flagged for roughing the kicker which would give Sheffield 15 yards and an automatic first down. This also would amaze fans as I thought that on a fumbled snap that the Punter became a regular player and the roughing the Kicker call was no longer valid. The new first down however would again go 4 and out leaving Sheffield with a long 4th down kick. Ridgway would score again this time on a 25 yard pass play from QB Nick Dickant to Hudson Rees. Alex Bradshaw would add the PAT. Sheffield's next possession would also add badly as Ridgeway's Sam Skraba would come up with the big interception. Ridgway would again capitalize scoring on a Elliot Pontious 24 yard touchdown run plus the Bradshaw PAT to go up by 21. The 2nd quarter would see Ridgway increase their score with two Andy Aiello touchdown runs of 5 and 67 yards and a Elliot Pontious 22 yard run. Alex Bradshaw would add 2 of the 3 point after tries to end the half at 41 to 0. The second half would finally see Sheffield put a few points on the board on a QB Craig Fitch 2 yard run and a Fitch to Larry Rudolph 14 yard Pass to bring the score to 41 to 14. Ridgway would add one more Barry Wilson 1 yard touchdown run along with the Bradshaw point after to make the final Ridgway 48 Sheffield 14. Where am I off too next week? Can not say. I will not know until my Van pulls in to the parking lot.
