WARRIORS FALL TO FRIARS IN GRAND RE-OPENING OF STADIUM

Tonight, the Warriors of West Chester B. Reed Henderson High School lost a tough game to the visiting Friars of Malvern Preporatory School, 28-27.  The game was the first game in the re-vamped J. Oscar Dicks Stadium, new with astroturf and lights.  Dicks Stadium goes back to 1928, built during the Works Progress Administration of the Great Depression.

 

Both Jimmy Cotton (Malvern Prep), and star back Stefan Adams (Henderson) had 3 touchdown games for their respective teams.  But it was Warrior QB Drew Constable's struggles (4-15, 1 INT) struggles, and a blocked field goal at the end of the game doomed Henderson.  The Warriors ran for 318 yards in the game.

 

Up next for Malvern Prep (2-0) is a home game against another Ches-Mont League team, the Downingtown East Cougars (2-0 going into tonight) @ Quigley Field.  For Henderson, a road trip to Wilmington, Delaware to play the St. Mark's Spartans (1-0) looms.
