Bubba Carter's Lackawanna Report

Abington Heights (9-0) knocked off Delaware Valley (8-1) 21-6.  Abington limited DV to 141 total yards.

 
Abington was led by Jeremy Jayne  (177 yards and 2 TD's passing).  Jayne hit Mike Byrne on a 33 yard TD and Frank Emmett on an 18 yard TD.  Devin Hewlett accounted for Abington's other TD on a 3 yard run.
 
DV's only score came on a Pat Casey fumble recovery in the endzone.
 
Lackawanna Trail (7-2) eased by Susquehanna (3-6) 42-7.  Trail was led by Colin Dwyer (3 TD runs - 24, 5 and 1 yard each).  Dwyer also threw a TD pass to Eric Steve (4 yards).
 
Other Trail TD's: Josh Dixon (20 yard run), Ricky Lochen (TD run)
 
Susquehanna score: Ernie Taylor (1 yard run)
 
Scranton Prep (6-3) defeated Carbondale (5-4) 28-8 behind a 14 tackle (3 sack) performance of Joe Ruzbarsky.  Ruzbarsky also caught two passes for 51 yards.
 
Prep TD's: Dean Silvon (49 yard run), Steve Malinchak (1 yard run), Matt Rader (20 yard run) and Chris Pesota (60 yard INT return).
 
Carbondale's lone score came on a late TD by Zach Lasavage (75 yard pass from Frank Brenzel)
 
Prep leads the all-time series 4-2-1.
 
Mid-Valley (6-3) picked up a 53-26 win over Riverside (1-8).  Ryan Rempe led Mid-Valley with 192 yards and 3 TD's rushing (40, 6 and 2 yard runs).   Rempe also threw for 3 TD's  (38 yard pass to Andy Wolak and a 10 and 11 yard passes to Kyle Chuff).
 
Other Mid-Valley scores:  Justin Siekierka (84 yard INT return) and Paul Jaskulski (1 yard run)
 
Riverside scores: Rich Rossi (63 yard pass from Justin Paroby), Paroby (13 yard run), Joe Strok (4 and 14 yard runs).
 
Strok ended the game with 140 yards rushing.  Rossi had 127 yards in receptions.  Paroby threw for 199 yards.
 
North Pocono (7-2) took a 35-0 lead into the 4th quarter and won 35-7 over Valley View (3-6).  Claude O'Connor led NP with 253 yards and 3 TD's rushing (1, 12 and 6 yard runs).
 
Other Trojan scores: Bill Heard (17 yard pass from Joe Richards), Richards (1 yard run).
 
Valley View score: Kyle Passeri (2 yard run).
 
Valley View still leads the all-time series 21-11.
Lakeland (7-2) held on for a thrilling 35-28 victory over Dunmore (3-6).  Louis Gonsauls led Lakeland with 199 yards and 3 TD's rushing (49, 5 and 1 yard runs).
 
Other Lakeland scores: Craig Chopko (2 yard run) and Drew Simonik (20 yard INT return with 6:40 left in game to give Lakeland thw win).
 
Dunmore scores: Michael McHale (16 yard pass from Miller Holmes), Pat Hart (13 yard pass from Holmes), Kevin Spager (11 yard pass from Holmes) and Gatlin Garrett (1 yard run).
 
Lakeland leads the all-time series 17-16.
 
Honesdale (3-6) defeated Wallenpaupack (1-8) 19-12.  Kyreek Johnson rushed for 120 yards and 1 TD (12 yard run) for Honesdale.
 
Other Honesdale scores: Mike Mattern (36 yard pass from Kyreek Johnson), Ben Rosa (1 yard run).
 
Mattern finished the night with 124 yard in receptions.
 
'Paupack scores: J.J. Borges (6 yard run), Phil Mertine (57 yard pass from Borges)
 
West Scranton (7-2) won "The Battle of the Bell" 41-27 over Scranton (5-3).  Matt McGloin led West with 324 yards passing (4 TD throws - 3 to Asa Lucas for 65, 76 and 39 yards each).  McGloin's 4th TD went to C.J. Passeri (8 yards).
 
Lucas ended the game with 205 yards in receptions.
 
Other West scores: C.J. Passeri (85 yard KO return) and Tom Ogonowski (3 yard run).
 
Ogonowski rushed for 112 yards.
 
Scranton scores: Kawon Shell (3 and 1 yard TD runs), Karrington Grissett (25 yard pass from A.J. McKenna) and Dave Demas (12 yard pass from McKenna).
 
McKenna ended the game with 216 yard in the air.  Shell rushed for 224 yards.
 
Bishop O'Hara (7-2) squeaked out a 21-20 win over Old Forge (5-4).  A Sean Madden 2 pt. conversion was the difference.
 
Madden rushed for 115 yards and had a 5 yard TD run.
 
Other O'Hara scores: Dom Marino (10 yard pass from Josh Watters) and Mike Masko (4 yard run).
 
Old Forge scores: Mike Doran (10 yard run), Mike Cusumano (44 and 23 yard passes from Doran).
 
Doran threw for 180 yards while Cusumano caught 133 yards worth of receptions.
 
Old Forge leads the all-time series 5-14-1.
 
Montrose (1-7) picked up a win over Western Wayne (0-9) 46-8.  Montrose had 3 100 yard rushers: Taylor Smith (156 yards and a 10 yard TD run), D.J. Brown (127 yards and TD runs of 6, 38 and 10 yards) and Jared Fowler (110 yards and a 20 yard TD run).
 
Other Montrose score: Dennis Moore (6 yard pass from Dominick Lucenti)
 
Western Wayne score: James Histed (1 yard run).
