Bubba Carter's Lackawanna Report

Carbondale (5-3) did something a team from Carbondale hadn't done since 1941 - BEAT Dunmore.  Carbondale defeated Dunmore (3-5) 28-0.  Carbondale's last win in the series came in a 7-6 win in 1941.   Dunmore had won the past 19 contests by a combined score of 599 to 65.  In the win, Zach Lasavage set a Carbondale school record for rushing in a single game with 339 yards.

 
Lasavage scored 3 TD's on runs of 40, 72 and 68 yards.  The other Carbondale score came on a Steven Moro 1 yard run.
 
Dunmore leads the all-time series 27-4-4.
 
West Scranton (6-2) knocked off Honesdale (2-6) 46-13 behind Tom Ogonowski's 192 yards and 3 TD's rushing (6, 19 and 63 yard runs).
 
Other West scores: Hubie Graham (26 yard pass from Matt McGloin), Asa Lucas (39 yard INT return), Mark Bidwell ((17 yard pass from McGloin) and Pat Baresse (3 yard run).
 
McGloin finished with 100 yards passing.
 
Honesdale scores: Trevin Jaggers (56 yard pass from Kyreek Johnson) and Zack Knapp (1 yard run).
 
West leads the all-time series 9-1.
 
Abington Heights (8-0) remained perfect with a 35-6 win over Wallenpaupack (1-7).  Jeremy Jayne led Abington with 170 yards and 1 TD passing.
 
Abington scores: Mike Byrne (42 yard pass from Jayne), Nick Pasqualichio (59 yard run), John Habeeb (2 yard run), Dav Chiavacci (39 yard run) and Jayne (1 yard run).
 
'Paupack score: Jeff Caccavale (11 yard pass from Richard Palazzi)
 
Scranton Prep (5-3) eased by Montrose (0-7) 34-14.  Dean Silvon led Prep with 189 yards and 3 TD's rushing.  Silvon scored on runs of 24, 7 and 98 yards.
 
Don Loftus added 2 TD runs in a winning effort (29 and 13 yards)
 
Montrose scores: Jared Fowler (27 yard run) and Dominick Lucenti (49 yard run).  Fowler rushed for 107 yards.
 
Prep leads the all-time series 4-0.
 
Scranton (5-2) defeated North Pocono (6-2) 35-14.   Kawon Shell led Scranton with 149 yards and 1 TD rushing (3 yard run).
 
Other Scranton scores: A.J. McKenna (1 yard run), Michael Weeks (35 yard pass from McKenna), Corey Suhow (68 yard INT return) and Suhow (18 yard pass from McKenna).
 
McKenna ended the game with 142 yards passing.
 
North Pocono scores: Bill Heard (5 yard pass from Joe Richards) and Tom Snyder (1 yard run).
 
North Pocono leads the all-time series 7-6 but Scranton has won the last 5 meetings.
Lakeland (6-2) led 48-0 at the half and won 48-6 over winless Western Wayne (0-8).  Lakeland was led by Louis Gonsauls (115 yards and 2 TD's rushing) and Craig Chopko (108 yards and 3 TD's rushing).
 
Other Lakeland scores: Justin Virbitsky (40 yard pass from Anthony Besten) and Jack Delfino (2 yard run)
 
Western Wayne scored on a 9 yard pass from Joe Rodack to Jerry Smeding.
 
Lakeland is 15-0 all-time versus Western Wayne.
 
Bishop O'Hara (6-2) rolled over Riverside (1-7) 46-27.  O'Hara was led by Sean Madden (181 yards and 3 TD's rushing plus a 51 yard TD reception from Josh Watters).
 
Other O'Hara scores: Jon Petrialk (49 yard pass from Watters), Mike Pasqualichio (10 yard INT return) and Watters (5 yard run).
 
Watters passed for 112 yards.
 
Riverside scores: Tim Cravetts (1 yard run), Rich Rossi (38 yard pass from Justin Paroby), Jon Strok (69 yard pass from Paroby) and Rossi (70 yard pass from Paroby).
 
Paoby passed for 217 yards in the game and Rich Rossi caught 108 yards in receptions.
 
Riverside leads the all-time series 5-1. Riverside outscored O'Hara  210 to 35 in the 1st 5 meetings.
 
Lackawanna Trail (6-2) blasted Old Forge (5-3) 48-0 behind Colin Dwyer's 160 yards passing.
 
Dwyer threw TD passes to Stoney Van Horn (40 yards) and Jimmy Loder (40 yards).
 
Josh Dixon rushed for 2 TD's (28 and 1 yard each).
 
Other Trail scores: Devon Lindsey (1 yard run), Bill Clark (13 yard run) and Eric Johnson (recovered block punt in endzone).
 
Trail has beaten Old Forge 13 straight times.
 
Delaware Valley (8-0) held on for a 40-27 win over Valley View (3-5).  DV was led by Richie Hearon (234 yards passing with 3 TD throws to Caleb Holocher, Joe Strauder and Billy Scheuer.  Hearon also scored on a 1 yard run.
 
Other DV scores: Tony Whitty (2 yard run), Strauder (70 pass from Josh Navitsky).
 
Valley View scores: Kyle Passeri (65 and 12 yard runs), Jeff Kushmerick (58 yard run) and Dom Coassolo (99 yard INT retun)
 
Passeri rushed for 168 yards.
 
Valley View leads the all-time series 4-2.
 
Valley View has an all-time record of 309-102-8 but is just 6-14 in its' last 20 games.
 
Mid-Valley (5-3) defeated Susquehanna (3-5) 39-18. MV was led by Andy Wolak (126 yards, 3 TD's rushing) and Ryan Rempe (206 yards, 3 TD's passing).
 
Wolak scored on runs of 5, 2 and 1 yard).  Rempe's TD's (36 yards to Kyle Chuff, 9 and 54 yards to Justin Siekierka)
 
Susquehanna scores: Christopher Felter (14 yard run), Dustin Shaw (82 yard INT return) and Ernie Taylor (2 yard run).
