Abington Heights (6-0) shutout Valley View 43-0
behind Jeremy Jayne's 162 yards passing (2 TD throws). Jayne hit Jon Cadman
(4 and 20 yards) with both TD throws.
Other Abington scores: David Chiavacci (48 yard run), John Habeeb (1 yard
run), Devin Hewlett (2 yard run), Mike Byrne (23 yard FG) and Nick
Pasqualichio (11 yard pass from Jon Kerzetski).
Abington limited Valley View to 57 yards of total offense.
Valley View still leads the all-time series 22-11-2.
Scranton Prep (4-2) knocked off Dunmore
(2-4) 34-7. Dean Silvon led Prep with 159 yards and 3 TD's rushing. Silvon
scored on runs of 25, 13 and 1 yard. Matt Rader added 123 yards rushing and
2 more TD's. Rader's TD runs each went for 2 yards.
Dunmore's only score came on a Gatlin Garrett 3 yard run.
Dunmore still leads the all-time series 12-21 but Prep leads 12-11 in the
last 23 meetings since 1981.
The win was also represented the largest margin of victory (27 points) for
Prep over Dunmore. The prior record was 21 points (1986 and 1997).
Bishop O'Hara (5-1) pulled out a big win over rival
Mid-Valley (4-2) 15-13. O'Hara was led by Sean Madden's 167 yards
rushing (1 TD run of 49 yards). Mike Masko scored O'Hara's other TD on a 5
yard run.
Mid-Valley scores: Justin Siekierka (24 yard pass from Ryan Rempe) and Andy
Wolak (3 yard run).
Mike Masko also ran in a 2 point conversion to give O'Hara the 2 point win.
Mid-Valley still leads the all-time series 6-10.
Lakeland (4-2) kept Montrose (0-5) winless
with a 36-14 win. Lakeland was led by Louis Gonsauls (120 yards, 3 TD's
rushing) and Craig Chopko (105 yards, 1 TD rushing).
Anthony Beston scored the other Chief TD on a 12 yard run.
Montrose was led by Taylor Smith (122 yards rushing).
Montrose scores: Dominick Lucenti (1 and 45 yard runs).
Lakeland leads the all-time series 14-1.
Scranton (3-2) cruised to a 41-7 win over
Wallenpaupack (1-5). Scranton was led by Kawon Shell's 215 yards
rushing. Kawon scored 4 times on runs of 2, 5, 1 and 8 yards.
Other Scranton scores: A.J. McKenna (1 yard run) and Kevin Calvey (4 yard
run).
McKenna also threw for 109 yards.
'Paupack lone score came on a 42 yard pass from Rich Palazzi to Jeff Caccavale.
Scranton outgained 'Paupack 500 yards to 167.
Lackawanna Trail (4-2) defeated Riverside
(1-5) 21-6 behind the legs of Josh Dixon. Dixon rushed for 162 yards and 1 TD
in the win. Colin Dwyer added 2 TD runs for the winners (1 and 25 yards).
Riverside's only TD came on a Scott Gavin 7 yard run.
Trail outgained Riverside 377 to 191 in total yards.
North Pocono (6-0) took a 42-0 2nd quarter lead and cruised
to a 42-14 win over Honesdale (2-4).
NP was led by Claude O'Connor who scored 4 TD's (3 rushing and 1 reception).
O'Connor scored on runs of 68, 9 and 9 yards and caught a 14 yard pass from
Joe Richards.
Bill Heard hauled in 2 more Richards' TD throws (52 and 45 yards each).
Richards threw for 196 yards in the game.
Honesdale's scores: Mike Mattern (32 yard pass from Kyreek Johnson) and
Johnson scored on a 15 yard run.
The win ensured that North Pocono will finish with a winning season - It's
first since 2001. North Pocono had 14 consecutive non-losing seasons from
1988 to 2001 before going 3-28 from 2002 to 2004.
North Pocono leads the all-time series with Honesdale 10-3.
Delaware Valley (6-0) won the its battle but West
Scranton (4-2) but may have lost a lot more. DV's star running back
Frankie Colletta broke his ankle on his 1st carry and will not play the rest
of the year.
DV was led by Richie Hearon (2 TD runs - 29 and 52 yards) and Kenny Domzalski
(170 yards and 1 TD rushing).
West Scores: Tom Ogonowski - 2 TD runs (1 yard each).
West still leads all-time series 5-3.
Old Forge (4-2) knocked off Susquehanna
(2-4) 47-13. Halftime score 14-13 Old Forge.
Old Forge was led by Joey Angeli's 4 TD runs. Brandon Gatto added 136 yards
and 1 TD rushing while Steve Bieryla added 108 yards and 1 TD rushing.
The other Old Forge score came on a Mike Doran 1 yard run. Doran also threw
for 156 yards.
Susquehanna scores: Ernest Taylor (13 yard run) and Anthony Dorunda (7 yard
run).
Carbondale (3-3) shutout Western Wayne
(0-6) 42-0. Zach Lasavage ran for 5 TD's and 153 yards to lead Carbondale
to the win. Lasavage scored on runs of 1, 13, 50, 55 and 23 yards.
The other Carbondale TD came on a Wayne Imbalzano 51 yard fumble return.
