North Pocono (4-0) defeated Wallenpaupack
(1-3) 35-13 to take a 7-4 lead in the all-time series. The win marked the 8th
time in school history that NP started a season 4-0. The other 4-0 starts
occurred in 1968, 1983, 1984, 1991, 1992, 1994 and 1995.
Claude O'Connor led North Pocono with 293 yards and 5 TD's rushing. O'Connor
scored on runs of 65, 13, 47, 1 and 67 yards.
'Paupack scores: J.J. Borges (85 yard KO return) and Jeff Caccavale (21 yard
pass from Richard Palazzi).
Lackawanna Trail (2-2) eased by Carbondale
(1-3) 13-7. Josh Dixon led Trail with 2 TD's (18 and 57 yard runs) and 126
yards rushing.
Carbondale scored on a Steve Moro 11 yard run.
Zach Lasavage added 154 yards rushing in a losing effort for Carbondale.
For only the 3rd time in the Dunmore /Mid-Valley series, the Spartans of
Mid-Valley (3-1) picked up a win. Dunmore
(1-3) now leads the series 23-3 after Mid-Valley's 36-14 victory.
QB Ryan Rempe led MV with 67 yards and 3 TD's rushing while also throwing for
130 yards and 2 more scores. Rempe's TD throws both went to Justin Siekierka
(27 and 17 yards).
Dunmore scores: Bryan Zayak (80 yard punt return) and Zayak caught a 18 yard
TD pass from Miller Holmes.
Old Forge (3-1) picked up a win over Scranton Prep
(3-1) 29-21. Old Forge was led by Brandon Gatto (100 yards
rushing).
Old Forge scores: Mark Alexander (35 yard run), Mike Doran (5 and 1 yard
runs), Joey Angeli (3 yard run). Old Forge also picked up a safety.
Prep TD's: Steve Malinchak (5 yard run), Matt Rader (8 and 2 yard runs)
Prep leads the all-time series 8-7.
Lakeland (3-1) got by Susquehanna (1-3)
21-12 despite being outgained 246 to 172 in total yards. Harry Curnow led
Lakeland with 100 yards and 2 TD's rushing. Craig Chopko scored the other
Lakeland TD on a 1 yard run.
Susquehanna scores: Dustin Shaw (9 yard pass from Anthony Dorunda),
Christopher Felter (84 yard run).
Felter ended the game with 102 yards rushing.
Lakeland leads the all-time series 14-3.
West Scranton (3-1) overcame a 24-21 halftime deficit to
knock off Valley View (3-1) 49-31. West was led by Tom
Ogonowski's 282 yards and 4 TD's rushing. Ogonowski scored on runs of 3, 9, 8
and 29 yards.
Other West scores: Asa Lucas (25 and 20 yard passes from Matt McGloin),
Anthony Monacelli (11 yard run).
Monacelli ended the game with 109 yards rushing.
Valley View scores: Kyle Passeri (3 TD runs - 84, 1 and 73 yards each), Pat
Sotak (31 yard FG), Christian Paparelli (12 yard pass from Jordan Lupini).
Passeri rushed for 227 yards in the game.
Valley View still leads the all-time series over West 26-8-1.
Bishop O'Hara (4-0) defeated Montrose
(0-4) 31-16.. The win marked the Bruins first win over Montrose since
1985. Montrose had won the previous 13 meetings between the two schools.
Montrose leads the all-time series 17-6-1.
Sean Madden led O'Hara with 231 yards and 4 TD's rushing. Madden scored on
runs of 17, 33, 24 and 30 yards. Madden also threw a 68 yard TD pass to
Alex Williams.
Montrose scores: Taylor Smith (22 yard run and a 87 yard pass from Dominick
Lucenti).
The win marked only the 4th time in history that O'Hara has started 4-0.
Other 4-0 starts (1983, 1988 and 1999). The win also gave O'Hara 5 straight
wins - ties school record set in 1983.
Riverside (1-3) picked up a win over Western Wayne
(0-4) 50-21. The Vikings were led by Matt Gawel (101 yards and 3 TD's
rushing). Gawel scored on runs of 24, 16 and 44 yards. Gawel added a 4th
TD on a 17 yard pass from Justin Paroby.
Other Riverside scores: Scott Gavin (8 and 3 yard runs), Ryan Tempaugh (3
yard run).
Western Wayne scores: Mark Turner (24 and 14 yard runs), Nick Griffin (21
yard blocked punt return).
Delaware Valley (4-0) used a 35-6 2nd half to break open a
7-7 halftime game to defeat Scranton (2-2) 42-13. DV was
led by Frankie Colletta (264 yards and 3 TD's rushing). Colletta scored on
runs of 50, 71 and 1 yard.
Other DV scores Jeff Briggs (45 yard pass from Richie Hearon), Kenny
Domzalski (38 yard pass from Josh Navitsky) and Domzalski (33 yard run)
Scranton TD's: Dave Demas (8 yard pass from A,J, McKenna), Karrington
Grissett (50 yard pass from McKenna).
McKenna threw for 138 yards in the game.
Abington Heights (4-0) shutout Honesdale
(2-2) 42-0. Abington limited Honesdale to 84 yards in offense.
Devin Hewlett led the Comets with 165 yards and 1 TD (16 yard run) rushing.
Hewlett added another score on a 30 yard pass from Jeremy Jayne.
Other Abington scores: Jeremy Jayne (13 yard run), David Chiavacci (17 yard
run), Jon Kerzetski (1 yard run) and Joe Diskin (31 yard run).
Jayne threw for 108 yard in the game.
