Lackawanna Report Week 3 ---  Bubba Carter

North Pocono (3-0) defeated West Scranton (2-1) for the 1st time since 1999.   The Trojans Bobby DeMeck broke up a West 2 point conversion attempt with no time on the clock to preserve a 27-26 win.

 
Claude O'Conner led NP with 166 yards rushing and 2 TD's.    The other Trojan TD's came from Bill Heard (2 TD's receiving from Joe Richards). 
 
West still leads the all-time series 13-21.
 
West was led by QB Matt McGloin (222 yards and 4 TD's in the air).  Asa Lucas caught 3 TD passes while C.J. Passeri hauled in the 4th.
 
Delaware Valley (3-0) jumped all over Wallenpaupack (1-2) to take a 41-0 lead at the half.  Final score 55-6.
 
Frankie Colletta led DV with 261 yards and 5 TD's rushing.  Colletta's scored on runs of 18, 57, 33, 15 and 43 yards.
 
Other DV scores:  Billy Scheuer (TD pass from Bill Poore), Johnny Hearon (TD pass from Richie Hearon) and Kenny Domzalski (TD run).
 
'Paupack's only score came from John Ambrose on a 2 yard TD run
 
DV is 11-2 in its last 13 games but still only has an all-time record of 33-106 since beginning football in 1991.
 
Mid-Valley (2-1) edged Carbondale (1-2) 24-16.  Ryan Rempe led Mid-Valley with 170 yards and 2 TD's passing.   Rempe's TD throws were caught by Justin Siekierka and Kyle Chuff.  Chuff ended his night with 114 yards receiving.
 
Other Spartan scores: Jim Killiany (TD pass from Chuff) and a 24 yard Chuff FG.
 
Carbondale scores: Zach Lasavage (TD run) and Andrew Torch (TD run).
 
Abington Heights (3-0) picked up a big win vs Scranton (2-1) with a 28-0 shutout.  Devin Hewlett rushed for 129 yards and Jeremy Jayne threw for 116 yards and 2 TD's (rushed for 1 TD too) to lead the Comets.
 
Jayne's TD throws went to Jon Cadman (8 yards) and Shaun Pasternak (25 yards).  Nick Pasqualiichio added the final TD for Abington a 31 yard TD run.
 
Abington limited Scranton to 111 yards of total offense while racking up 412 yards in total offense.
 
Valley View (3-0) surpassed last years win total with a 48-20 victory over Honesdale (2-1).  Valley View now leads the all-time series 6-2.
 
Kyle Passeri led the Cougars with 220 yards and 4 TD's rushing.  Passeri scored on runs of 14, 4 , 4 and 1 yards).   Other Cougar scores: Dave Karwawski (58 yard INT return) Jeff Kushmerick (57 yard run) and John Mitchko (11 yard run).
 
Kushmerick rushed for 100 yards on the night.
 
Honesdale scores:  Ben Rosa (2 TD runs) and Trevor Taylor (1 TD run).
 
Old Forge (2-1) kept Montrose winless (0-3) with a 33-16 win.  Mike Doran passed for 145 yards and 4 TD's for the winning Blue Devils.  Doran's TD's went to Joey Angeli (1), Mike Cusumano (2) and Dave Schara (1).  Angeli also added a 43 yard TD run.
 
Brendan Gatto rushed for 127 yards for Old Forge.
 
Montrose scores: Jared Fowler (2 TD runs).  Fowler ended the night with 161 yards rushing.
 
Dunmore (1-2) defeated Riverside (0-3) 42-6 behind Miller Holmes' 4 TD passes (146 yards).  Holmes' throws went to Bryan Zayak (35 and 9 yards) and Craig Zielinski (9 and 55 yards).
 
Other Dunmore scores: Gatlin Garrett (TD run) and Kevin Spager (TD run).
 
Riverside's lone TD came from Scott Gavin (TD run).
 
Dunmore leads the all-time series 29-11-1. 
 
Lakeland (2-1) knocked off Lackawanna Trail (1-2) 35-13.  Harry Curnow led Lakeland with 153 yards and 4 TD's rushing.   Curnow scored on runs of 25, 6, 13 and 3 yards.
 
Louis Gonsauls added the other Lakeland score on a 12 yard run.
 
Colin Dwyer led Trail with 131 yards and 2 TD's passing (Stoney Van Horn caught both TD passes).
 
Lakeland now leads the all-time series 14-12.
 
Bishop O'Hara (3-0) eased by Western Wayne (0-3) 46-20.  The all-time series is now tied at 13-13.
 
Bishop O'Hara was led by Sean Madden (242 yards and 3 TD's rushing) and Mike Masko (113 yards and 2 TD's rushing).  O'Hara rushed for 437 yards in the game.
 
Other O'Hara scores: Sean McGowan (TD run) and Dom Marino (TD run).
 
Western Wayne scores: Dejon Williams (TD run), Jerry Smeding (TD catch from James Histed) and Mark Turner (TD catch from Histed).
 
Scranton Prep (3-0) used two (2) 90 yard KO returns by Pat Jochum to defeat Susquehanna (1-2) 42-19.
 
Matt Rader added 147 yards and 2 TD's rushing (65 and 14 yards) for Prep which now leads the all-time series with Susquehanna 5-0.
 
Prep's Steve Malinchak threw for 126 yards and 2 TD's (64 yards to Chris Pesota and 27 yards to Dean Silvon).
 
Susquehanna was led by Anthony Dorunda.  Dorunda rushed for 108 yards and 2 TD's while also throwing for 142 yards and 1 more score.  Dorunda's TD pass went to Cody Norris.
