TIGERS JUST - IN CREDIBLE IN WIN OVER GREENVILLE !!!!

Justin Haney scored three touchdowns, Gary Corbin threw for two TD's and
ran for another and Jack Mc Cann went over 1,000 yards for the season as
Fairview defeated Greenville 41 - 7 Saturday afternoon at McDowell's Gus
Anderson field.  The Tigers, playing on turf for the first time since
their season opening win at Pittsburgh Schenley, showed they can go the
distance on any play.  On their second possession of the game, Gary
Corbin threw a 50 yard strike to Justin Haney for the game's first
score.  Haney, who finished with two catches for 88 yards, leaped over a
Greenville defender and took the ball away at the 5 yard line before
getting into the end zone.  A missed extra point try left the score 6 -
0 until just before the half.

With the Trojans driving just before the half, Andy Dawson sacked
Greenville QB Josh Chisholm for an 8 yard loss on 4th down, giving the
ball to the Tigers with 1:21 left in the half and the ball at the Tiger
43.  After a 6 yard gain by Jack Mc Cann, it looked liked the Tigers
were content to run out the clock and go to the locker room with a 6 - 0
lead.  But on a 2nd down and 4, Corbin faked a hand off to Mc Cann and
skirted 51 yards for a TD with just one second left in the half.  Corbin
out ran the entire Greenville secondary for the score, then threw a
perfect pass in the corner of the end zone to Haney for the two point
conversion and a 14 - 0 lead at the half.

The Trojans would not quit however, showing why they have one of the
most respected programs in all of D - 10.  Taking the opening kickoff,
they methodically went 68 yards in 13 plays, with work horse running
back Chris Fragapane going in from a yard out.  Justin Mc Crillis's PAT
brought the Trojans to within seven at 14 - 7 with just under 6 minutes
left in the third quarter.  But on the ensuing kickoff, Haney took the
ball at his 5 and went 95 yards untouched for a TD. A blocked extra
point left the score 20 - 7, but opened up the flood gates for more
Tiger scores.  After a Greenville punt, the Tigers went 50 yards in 10
plays with Corbin's second TD pass of the game, this one to Tyler
Sargent covering 13 yards. On their next possession, the Trojans were
forced to punt, but a high snap resulted in a failed try to run for the
first down.  Matt Sundberg caused a fumble, where Mickey Taylor scooped
it up and appeared to run the ball to the one yard line.  Officials
ruled his knee was down at the 20, but the Tigers scored again, this
time it was Haney on a 13 yard reverse. Corbin ran in the two point
conversion for a 34  - 7 lead.  Jack Mc Cann closed out the scoring for
the night going 47 yards off tackle, breaking a tackle and then out
running everyone to the end zone.  Mc Cann, who finished with 129 yards
on 24 carries, went over 1,000 yards to become the fifth back in the
past six years to do so.  Preceding Mc Cann in the 1,000 yard club were
Jeremy Lightner, Miles Wayne and Ty Perry, who accomplished the feat in
consecutive years. Younger brother Kory Perry's extra point after the
Mc Cann run closed out the scoring for the Tigers.

Pat Michaels led Fairview with 16 tackles, and brother Matt had two
sacks to highlight the defensive effort.  Fairview will now play Grove
City, a team the Tigers beat earlier this season at Fairview in a region
crossover game. That game is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, with
the time and sight not yet determined.
