First team All State Vinnie Ranauto’s 15 carries for 117 yards along with 2 touchdown runs of 3 yards paced the 2nd ranked Caravel Buccaneers at 3-0 to a 49-7 victory over the Bobcats of Bel Air High School of Maryland. Travis Perez 8 carries for 92 yards scored on a 15 yard run and Brandon Cheatham 3 carries for 73 yards scored on a 49 yard touchdown run. Quarterback Brian Potts 6 completions out of 13 attempts for 160 yards along with an 18 yard touchdown pass to Chris Enselm. Delmar 29, St. Elizabeth 0-Tevin Jackson’s 15 carries for 242 yards along with 3 touchdown runs of 38, 70 and 1 yard paced the 3rd ranked Division II Delmar Wildcats at 3-0 to a 29-0 victory over the previously undefeated Vikings of St. Elizabeth. Laurel 21, Sussex Tech 20 The Bulldogs of Laurel improve their record to 2-1 on a 40 yard interception return along with touchdown runs by Lance Kelley of 3 yards and Blake Hare’s 10 yard run. Kyle Brown converted on 3 pat’s defeated the previously undefeated and team on the watch in Division I Sussex Tech Ravens at 2-1 by a 21-20 score. For the Ravens, Sean Hopkins threw a 19 yard pass to to Jacob Mitchell, Mitchell scored on a 5 yard run along with teammate Darius Sivels on a 15 yard run with the PAT blocked The Riders of Caesar Rodney came back from a 6-0 deficit came back in the third quarter on 2 touchdown performances, 1 on a 1 yard touchdown run by Jeremy Milner (21 carries for 131 yards) and John Sclesky’s 15 yard touchdown pass to Allessio Monsanto both in the 3rd quarter as they defeated the top ranked Sals of Salesianum by a 14-6 score and ended the longest winning Salesianum football streak in school history at 18 games. All State Tailback Sal Viscount led the Sals with 128 yards rushing along with a 38 yard touchdown run. Field Hockey News: The top ranked and 2 time defending state champion Hillers of Tower Hill at 3-0 on 2 goals by Leslie Griffith and an assist along with Lauren Ianni’s penalty corner goal defeated the 1-1 Spartans of St. Marks by a 3-0 score. 2 goals each by Katie McMahon’s and Alison Bloodsworth paced the 2nd ranked Delmar Wildcats at 4-0 by a 4-2 victory over the previously undefeated Lady Ravens of Sussex Tech. Soccer News: Matt Oduaran’s 2 goals along with 1 goal by Tyler Niggebrugge paced the 2nd ranked Caravel Buccaneers at 5-0 to a 3-1 victory over the 1-1 Concord Raiders. Cross Country News-In the Boys Division of the 2007 Delaware Military Academy Invitational which was held at Banning Park in Wilmington, St. Marks finished in first place with 47 points. Individual winner was Concord High’s George Vernon with a time of 16:14.0. In the Girls Division, the Hornets of Tatnall won the team title with 25 points. Juliet Bottorff of Tatnall was the winner with a time of 18:46.0. Delaware Volleyball News-4th ranked St. Marks Spartans improve their record to 6-2 defeated the Lady Force of Charter School of Wilmington at 4-1 by a 3 games to 1 score. Game scores were 25-17, 25-9, 21-15 and 25-11.
