Week 10

Old Forge (7-3) won a share of the Lackawanna Division 3 crown with a remarkable 14-7 win over Bishop O'Hara (6-3).  Statisically this was a lopsided game in favor of O'Hara.   O'Hara had 20 1st downs to Old Forge's one.  O'Hara ougained Old Forge 307 to 115 in total yards.   O'Hara had the ball for 34 1/2 minutes to just 13 1/2 for Old Forge.  O'Hara ran 71 plays while Old Forge just 22.   Old Forge scored on an 80 yard run by Steven Bieryla - that leaves 27 yards on the other 21 plays.   O'Hara was led by Sean McGowan (133 yards rushing, 1 TD).  O'Hara remains the only Lackawanna Football Conference team to have never won a league championship.
 
Lackawanna Trail (6-4) picked up a share of the LFC Division 3 crown with ahard fought 18-12 win over Carbondale (5-5). Josh Dixon led Trail with 162 yards and 2 TD's rushing.  Carbondale outgained Trail 317 to 296 in total yards.  Frank Bentzel led Carbondale with 138 yards and 1 TD passing.
 
Abington Heights (9-1) secured the LFC Division 1 crown with a 31-0 shutout over North Pocono (1-9).  Abington was led by Dave Keisling (100 yards, 2TD passing plus 47 yards rushing).  Abington won LFC Division 1 last year as well.  Abington's only loss this year was out of conference vs Wyoming Valley West.
 
Lakeland (9-1) wrapped up LFC Division 2 with a 42-8 win over Scranton Prep (2-8).  Lakeland was led by Nichols led Lakeland with 232 yards and 2 TD's rushing.  Lakeland rushed for 439 yards on the night.  Craig Chopko added 110 yards and 2 TD's rushing for the Chiefs.
 
Delaware Valley (9-1) equalled a school record for wins in a season with a 28-14 win over West Scranton (5-5).  DV was led by Kenny Domzalski (126 yards rushing) and Josh Navitsky (155 yards and 2 TD's passing).  DV won 9 games in 2004.
 
Dunmore (9-1) beat Riverside (6-4) in a wild one 34-27.  Dunmore was led by Michael Peery (240 yards and 2 TD's rushing).   Gaitlen Garrett added 2 rushing TD's in the Dunmore win.  Rich Rossi (131 yards receiving) and Justin Paroby (329 yards, 3 TD's passing) and Casey Surridge (150 yards, 3 TD's receving) led Riverside.
 
Scranton (5-5) beat Wallenpaupack (3-7) 41-6.   Kawon Shell led Scranton with 159 yards and 3 TD's rushing.  Phil Mertine led 'Paupack with 132 yards and 1 TD receiving.   Scranton outgained 'Paupack 301 to 32 yards on the ground.
 
Mid-Valley (2-8) eased by Western Wayne (0-10) 14-13.  Mid-Valley was led by Kyle Chuff (131 yards and 1 TD rushing).  Dejon Williams led Western Wayne with 167 yards rushing.
 
Valley View (7-3) knocked off Honesdale (2-8) 49-6.  Valley View led 41-0 at the half.  Kyle Passeri led Valley View with 2 TD's rushing and an 86 yard KO return.  Dave Abdalla added 2 TD throws for the Cougars in their win.  Head Coach Frank Pazzaglia picked up win #317 (a Scranton Area best).
 
Montrose (5-5) shutout Susquehanna (1-9) 38-0.  Taylor Smith led Montrose with 295 yards and 3 TD's rushing.   Montrose outgained Susquehanna 338 to 98 in total yards.  Montrose's yardage all came on the ground.
