Week 9
Dunmore (8-1) cruised to a 40-7 win over
Mid-Valley (1-8). The Bucks were led by Gaitlin Garrett (2 rushing TD's) and
Chris Mecca (117 yards and 1 TD rushing). Dunmore outgained Mid-Valley 366 to
155 in total yards.
Old Forge (6-3) beat Lackawanna Trail (5-4) 20-12
behind the passing of Mark Alexander (2 for 2 with 2 TD passes). Statisically
the game was almost dead even (227 to 222 yards in Old Forge's favor).
Valley View (6-3) hit 50 in a 50-18 win over West
Scranton (5-4). Kyle Passeri led the Valley View Cougars with 205 yards and 4
TD's rushing. Passeri also added a 98 yard INT retunr for a score. Valley
View outgained West 443 to 287 in total yards.
Scranton Prep (2-7) eased by winless Western Wayne
(0-9) 41-14. Prep was led by Al Caban (2 rushing TD's) and Josh Ildefonso
(106 yards and 1 TD passing).
Delaware Valley (8-1) had a big night in a 49-7
win over North Pocono (1-8). DV was led by Kenny Domzalski (209 yards and 3
TD's rushing). DV limited NP to 135 total yards. Halftime score 35-0.
Wallenpaupack (3-6) squeeked by arch-rival
Honesdale (2-7) 13-10. JJ Borges led 'Paupack with 119 yards and 1 TD
rushing. Ben Rosa led Honesdale with 128 yards and 1 TD rushing in th loss.
Jonathan Schmalze booted 2 FG's for 'Paupack (27 and 26 yards).
Lakeland (8-1) picked up a big win over Riverside
(6-3) 35-14. The Chiefs were led by Randy Nichols (209 yards and 2 TD's
rushing). Craig Chopko added 3 rushing TD for Lakeland. Justin Paroby threw
for 2 scores in a losing effort for Riverside.
Bishop O'Hara (6-2) beat Montrose (4-5) 7-6. The
Bruins scored in the 1st quarter on 56 yard pass from Jim Histed to Rob
Solimini. Histed added the extra point. Montrose's Jared Fowler rushed for
101 yards in the loss. The win was #199 for O'Hara Head Coach Butch Keller.
Carbondale (5-4) edged Susquehanna (1-8) 24-6.
Andrew Torch and Steve led Carbondale with 2 TD's each. The game was played
on Sunday due to poor conditions Friday night.
Abington Heights (8-1) beat Scranton (4-5) 23-13
in a tough battle at Abington. Abington was led by Dave Keisling (182 yards
and 2 TD's passing). Sean Pasternak hauled in both TD's and ended with 119
yards receiving. Kawon Shell led Scranton with 132 yards and 2 TD's rushing.
