Dunmore's Head Coach Jack Henzes joined an elite group in PA coaching with a
32-7 Win over Scranton Prep (1-7). Coach Henzes picked up win # 300 for
Dunmore (7-1). 269 of his 300 wins have come as the head man at Dunmore (1971
to present), 31 were from his days on Wyoming Area's sideline (1966-1969).
Dunmore was led by Gatlin Garrett (122 yards and 2 TD's rushing). Miller
Holmes added 104 yards and 2 TD's passing for the Bucks.
Bishop O'Hara (5-2) shutout Susquehanna (1-7) 35-0. The win was the second
this year for O'Hara over Susquehanna. O'Hara Head Coach Allen "Butch" Keller
picked up career win # 198. Mike Masko led O'Hara with 106 yards and 4 TD's
rushing.
Note: Bishop O'Hara despite their fine record have opted out
of the District 2 A playoffs.
Abington Heights (7-1) blanked Wallenpaupack (2-6) 42-0. Dave Keisling led
Abington with 127 yards and 2 TD's passing. Joe Diskin scored 2 TD's (1 rush,
1 reception) for the winners. Shaun Pasternak scored twice as well for the
Comets (62 yard punt return, 6 yard reception).
West Scranton (5-3) beat Honesdale (2-6) 47-21. Shawn Bodtman led West with
111 yards and 3 TD's rushing. West leads the all-time series 10-1.
Carbondale (4-4) upset Old Forge (5-3) 20-14. Andrew Torch led Carbondale
with 2 TD's (1 reception, 1 rush) plus he threw for a 3rd (27 yard TD pass).
Delaware Valley (7-1) beat Scranton (4-4) 23-7. Ken Domzalski led DV with 273
yards and 1 TD rushing. DV outgained Scranton 412 to 199 in total yards.
Josh Navitsky added 120 yards and 1 TD passing for DV. Scranton was led by
Dan Scherle (166 yards and 1 TD passing).
Lackawanna Trail (5-3) knocked off Montrose (4-4) 33-6. Josh Dixon led Trail
with 149 yards and 12 TD's rushing. Jared Fowler led Montrose with 144 yards
and 1 TD rushing.
Lakeland (7-1) cruised by Western Wayne (0-8) 48-14. Lakeland led 35-0 at the
half. Corey Beston led Lakeland with 117 yards and 1 TD rushing. Anthony
Beston threw for 128 yards and 3 TD's for the winners. Lakeland outgained
Western Wayne 299 to 28 in the 1st half.
Riverside (6-2) took it to Mid-Valley (1-7) 54-7. Riverside was led by Justin
Paroby (103 yards, 1 TD passing) and Joe Klebon (2 rushing TD's + a 32 yard
INT return for another score).
Valley View (5-3) routed North Pocono (1-7) 48-9 behind Kyle Passeri (234
yards and 5 TD's rushing). Passeri scored on runs of 16, 32, 4, 85 and 14
yards. Valley View led 35-3 at the half.
