Abington Heights (2-1) took care of Lakeland (2-1) 28-14. The Comets
outgained the Chiefs 254 to 187 in total yards. Abington was led by Dave
Keisling (1 yard TD run, 100 yards passing). A.J. Miele returned a blocked
punt 15 yards for Abington's 1st score.
Dunmore improved to 3-0 with a 26-7 win over West Scranton (2-1). The game
marked the 60th meeting between the 2 schools. West leads the all-time series
by a slim margin 28-29-3. Michael Perry led the Bucks with 180 yards and 1 TD
rushing. Miller Holmes tossed 3 TD passes for Dunmore. West was led by Matt
McGloin (240 yards passing, 1 TD) and C.J. Passeri (134 yards receiving)
Dunmore's Head Coach, Jack Henzes picked up win # 296 (265 at Dunmore).
Valley View's Frank Pazzaglia picked up his 312th career win with a 59-7 rout
of Mid-Valley (0-3). Valley View (2-1) leads the all-time series 24-1. Kyle
Passeri led the Cougars with 4 TD's (2 rushing, a 28 yard INT return and 1 TD
catch). Christian Paparelli added 107 yards and 3 TD's in receptions from
Dave Abdalla for Valley View.
Montrose (2-1) scored in the closing seconds trailing 15-14 on 4th and goal
from the 6 to defeat North Pocono (1-2) 22-15 in the 1st ever meeting between
the 2 schools. Taylor Smith led Montrose with 195 yards and 3 TD's rushing.
Kyle Cunningham led NP with 102 yards and 2 TD's rushing.
Old Forge (2-1) downed Scranton Prep (0-3) 28-7.Michael Cusumano led Old Forge
118 yards and 1 TD passing. Stephen Bieryla added 2 rushing TD's for the
winners. Old Forge outgained Prep 271 to 195 in total yards.
Riverside (1-2) knocked off Lackawanna Trail (2-1) 21-13 behind Justin
Paroby's arm (125 yards and 1 TD in the air) and Joe Klebon's legs (106
yards and 1 TD on the ground). Josh Dixon led Trail with 162 yards and 2
TD's rushing.
Bishop O'Hara (1-1) continued it's recent success against Susquehanna (1-2)
with a 20-12 win. O'Hara is 9-3 in the series in 1997. Overall Susquehanna
still leads the all-time series 14-22. Sean McGowan led O'Hara with 89
yards and 3 TD's rushing.
Honesdale (1-2) lost a close one to East Stroudsburg North 6-3. Honesdale
outgained ES North 256 to 77 in total yards in the loss.
Carbondale (2-1) kept Western Wayne (0-3) in check in a 35-7 victory. Adam
Torch led Carbondale with 118 yards and 3 TD's rushing. Frank Brenzel added
124 yards (2 TD's)passing in the win.
East Stroudsburg South defeated Scranton (1-2) 22-12. Dan Scherele (1 TD
pass, 133 yards in the air) and Kawon Shell (102 yards , 1 TD rushing) led
Scranton in the loss.
Lehighton picked up a 39-7 win over Wallenpaupack (1-2). Lehighton
outgained 'Paupack 416 to 107 in total yards.
Delaware Valley (3-0) remained perfect on the year with a 63-13 win over
Pocono Mountain East. Kenny Domzalski led DV with 183 yards and 3 TD's
rushing. Domzalski also returned a KO 80 yards for a TD. Josh Navitsky
added 164 yards and 4 TD's passing for DV.
