Bubba Carter's District TWO Report
Abington Heights shutout Hazleton Area 21-0 by holding Hazleton to 109 total
yards and 4 1st downs. Abington was led by Dave Keisling (32 yards and 1 TD
rushing, 45 yard INT return).
Lakeland defeated Valley View in an overtime thriller 14-13. Drew Babcanec
and Craig Chopko scored the Chief TD's but it was Spencer Clauss-Walton's 2
PAT's which made the difference. Kyle Passeri and Dave Abdalla scored for
Valley View. Valley View still leads the all-time series 19-9.
North Pocono knocked off Riverside 21-14. Riverside outgained NP 338 to 222
but could not defeat the Trojans. Kyle Cunningham led NP with 104 yards and 1
TD rushing. Rich Aston and Mark George also scored for NP. Justin Paroby led
Riverside with 247 yards and 2 TD's passing. Rich Rossi caught 141
yards (1TD) worth of Paroby's total.
Dunmore got by Old Forge 35-26 in the 60th meeting between the 2 schools.
Dunmore leads the all-time series 32-20-8. Mike Perry (Freshman) led Dunmore
with 215 yards and 3 TD's rushing in his debut.
West Scranton came back to defeat Scranton Prep 14-7 on 2 4th quarter TD's.
Pat Baresse (113 yards rushing) scored both West TD's. Matt Rader scored on
a TD run for Prep.
Defending District 2 AA champ Hanover Area beat Montrose 21-6 to open up
2006. Kyle Bonnice did return an INT 32 yards for a TD for Montrose.
Delaware Valley took it to East Stroudsburg North 49-21. DV was led by Kenny
Domzalski (180 yards and 3 TD's rushing). Hank Naurouter also rushed for 2
TD's for DV.
Honesdale blew out Western Wayne in the 2nd half in their 52-13 win. Halftime
score 14-7 Honesdale. Ben Rosa led Honesdale with 242 yards and 3 TD's
rushing. Kyreek Johnson also rushed for 2 TD's for Honesdale. Dejon Williams
led Western Wayne with 141 yards rushing. Rickard had a 15 yard INT return
for Honesdale.
Pocono Mountain West beat Wallenpaupack 17-8. JJ Borges scored 'Paupack's
only TD (20 yard run).
Lackawanna Trail shutout Mid-Valley 33-0. Trail was led by Josh Dixon's 113
yards and 1 TD rushing. Ethan Johnson added 2 rushing TD's for the Lions of
Trail.
Carbondale opened with a 20-16 win over Athens. Andrew Torch led Carbondale
with 82 yards and 1 TD rushing, 118 yards and 1 TD receiving (from Frank
Brezel). Brenzel tossed 2 TD passes and threw for 153 yards.
Bishop O'Hara could not defeat Reading Holy Name despite outgaing Holy Name
436 to 332.
Holy Name won 26-23. O'Hara was led by Mike Masko 107 yards rushing (2 TD's
) and Sean McGowan 190 yards rushing.
Wilkes-Barre GAR shutout Susquehanna 27-0. Susquehanna coach Dick Bagnall
remains tied for 10th on the all-time Scranton area coaching list with Gerry
Wasilchak (Lakeland) with 143 wins each.
Wyoming Valley West in coach George Curry's Valley West Debut defeated
Scranton 28-7. Valley West outgained Scranton 258 to 143 in total yards.
