Jerry Balasco of  Council Rock South won his 100th in the consys at 125 with a 3-2 decision over Easton's Alex Krom.

FINALISTS BY DISTRICT – In today’s AA finals districts 4, 6, and 7 each have five finalists, districts 3, 10 and 11 have three each and districts 2 and 9 have two in the round. Shutout from the Parade of Champions were districts 1 and 5.

WHAT NUMBERS – The combined career records for the 28 finalists is a whopping 3,273 wins against just 470 losses, that works out to a winning percentage of 84.44 percent. Just this year, the record is 1,064-59 (94.74 percent).

LOST IN THE SHUFFLE – Kurt Brenner’s semifinal win over Trevor Gallo was his 150th career. Brenner is a two-time state champion and with a win this afternoon will become the 24th wrestler in state history with three titles. He’ll meet Juniata senior Philip Bomberger for the 171-pound crown.
Brenner brings in a career mark of 150-13, Bomberger’s career mark is 165-20.
Not only will Brenner be shooting for his third gold, he’ll be an interested observer at 135 pounds where his Freedom teammate Damian Rose will meet Tyrone’s Thadd Westley.
In last week’s Southwest Regional final, Westley won 1-0.

MISSED YOU – At 130 pounds Garrett Scott of Juniata Valley and  Jeannette’s Larry Hall were in opposite sides of the SW regional bracket. Hall beaten by North Star’s Sal Lascari 3-1. Scott went on to pin Lascari in the finals.

TOGETHER AGAIN – Jake Strayer and Brock Scott met two weeks ago in the District  6 semifinals but missed each other in the regional. Also reunited in the finals are Athens’ Trevor Bennett and Loyalsock’s Isaiah Britton.

REVENGE FACTOR – Yesterday Taylor  Cummings rallied to knock off defending state champion Matt Dunn of Reynolds, 6-5. They’ll meet again today in the 112-pound third-place bout
