Roth, Winger claim crowns
HUDSON, Ohio - Cranberry's Brady Roth and Shaun Winger claimed titles Saturday to lead the Berries to a seventh place finish at the Hudson Holiday Classic.

Roth won the 140-pound weight class with a 6-5 decision over two-time Ohio state qualifier Brock Bodenbender of Liberty Center while Winger won by default over Nordonia's Joe Kowalski at 275 pounds when he was unable to continue after being slammed.

Both Roth and Winger hiked their records to 15-0 on the season. Winger, who had a pair of pins in the tournament, has eight on the season.

"(Brady) looked real good," Cranberry coach Steve Rood said. "He beat a tough kid in the finals."
Winger's bout was the quickest of the finals as Kowalski lifted the Berry off the mat before slamming him with just :10 gone.

Colt Burk logged a 4-1 record to place third for the Berries at 171 pounds. He improved to 14-3 on the season.
Earning sixth-place finishes for Cranberry were Tyler Bell at 125 and Mark Cangemi at 130.
"It was an excellent tournament and placing seventh was great," Rood said. "It was the first time we've had two champs. Cangemi and Bell are coming around."
