Border Wars Invitation
2008
Border Wars - December 19th and 20th
Last season, the finals saw Pennsbury, PA defeat
Fauquier 36-28 and Brooke Point wrestled back from a first round loss to place
4th, only losing to Liberty 30-28. The VA field for the 2008
Border Wars dual tournament is full and my goal is to have at
least 4 non-VA teams in the mix. This is a two day dual meet tournament with 16
teams. On day one everyone wrestles in a 4 team pool. A 12 team bracket is
seeded based on how you did in your pool, 4th place from each pool is
eliminated. Each 4th place team will wrestle each other in a quad on day 2.
Round 1 is wrestled Friday night and the top teams from each pool get a bye. The
bottom team in each pool gets 3 matches. Everyone else gets 5-9 matches. The
entry form for this tournament is attached and has more details. You can also
view the results for the pools here:

and the brackets here:

My
goal is to develop this tournament into a highly competitive event. This will be
a sanctioned event.
