The Kurt Angle Classic is an exciting new wrestling event created to honor celebrated Olympic gold medalist and World Wrestling Federation (WWF) champion Kurt Angle, who is promoting this unique competition on behalf of the sport he loves.

The Kurt Angle Classic, set up in a "USA vs. The World" format, will spotlight internationally known Olympic and World Champion athletes in three Olympic styles of wrestling: men's freestyle, men's Greco-Roman and women's freestyle. Three sessions of competition will prove who really rules the world of wrestling: In Session One, the United States military champion all-stars declare war on the Russian military champion team. Sessions Two and Three will be a battle royal between U.S. wrestlers and the best international wrestling stars in the world, all competing by special invitation based on their achievements at the Olympic Games and the World Championships.

In each competition, U.S. champions will face their foreign foes in thrilling matches enhanced with music, up-close interviews and effects worthy of wrestling's best. All wrestling competitions will take place in the Morial Convention Center's impressive 4000+-seat auditorium during the GNC/Physical magazine "Show of Strength" weekend, November 8-10, 2002, in New Orleans.

The Kurt Angle Classic, combining the world's best wrestlers with cutting-edge production techniques in a state-of-the-art venue, with a purse exceeding $75,000.00 in prize money, promises to be one of the most exciting wrestling events of the century!
